On Thursday January 11th, 2007, the Irish America magazine
Business 100 Awards Luncheon was held at The Boston College
Club in Boston.
Sponsored by The American Ireland Fund, this event recognized
the East Coast 25 honorees. As guests mingled during the
welcoming reception, they were amazed by the spectacular
views of Boston from the 36th floor.
Irish Spirit Award
Guests were welcomed by Irish America's Niall O'Dowd. Patricia
Harty, editor of the magazine presented Brian Burns, founder
of Boston College's Burns Library, with the Irish Spirit
Award. This award is given to honor the life and work of
those who embody the heart, soul and true spirit of the
Irish – resourcefulness, generosity, and commitment
to family and community.
Key Note speaker and Honoree
Bridget Hester, Boston Regional
Director of The American Ireland Fund introduced Key Note
speaker and Honoree, Thomas J. Hynes, President of Meredith & Grew. Mr. Hynes has
been a long time supporter of The American Ireland Fund
and shared with the audience his Irish connections and
family history.
The American Ireland Fund would like to congratulate some
of their longtime supporters who were honored at the Luncheon;
Anne Finucane-Bank of America, Joe Corcoran- Corcoran Jennison
Companies, Phillip Haughey- The Haughey Company, John Drew-The
Drew Company, Michael Costello- Pricewaterhouse Coopers,
Patrick Purcell- Herald Media.
