Boston St. Patrick's Celebration 2005 : March 10, 2005

The 2005 Boston St. Patrick's Day Celebration was held at the inviting Boston College Club. While admiring the views of the city from the 36th floor, guests enjoyed a complimentary beer and wine reception and a hot grill buffet. The live music of The Irish Trio and The Nightshift played into the evening while guests took part in the silent auction, a raffle and a concluding live auction. The event was co-chaired this year by Mark V. Mathers of Mathers Financial Group Inc. and Maura B. Barry of The Boston College Club.

Bridget Hester, the Boston Regional Director welcomed everybody to the event and also spoke of the great achievements of The American Ireland Fund over the past year. Mark Mathers also thanked everybody for attending and presented an engraved silver tray to the Honorary Committee members of the evening which included

An award was also presented to The AIF Special Events Director, Lesley King for her time and dedication throughout the years.

The Live Auction, a great success, took place after the closure of bidding for the items on the silent auction. The items on offer included a baseball autographed by Trot Nixon, Red Sox v Yankees tickets and tickets to see "Regis and Kelly" with an overnight stay for two in New York. The raffle prize was for two U2 tickets.
