| LORETTA BRENNAN GLUCKSMAN HONORED
Chairman of The American Ireland Fund, Loretta Brennan Glucksman
was presented with an honorary CBE (Commander of the British
Empire) from British Ambassador Sir Christopher Meyer, in
recognition of her services to the United Kingdom in promoting
reconciliation and regeneration in Northern Ireland.
DEREK BELL
Our sympathies to the family and friends of Derek Bell,
seen here with Chairman of The AIF Loretta Brennan Glucksman
at the Worldwide Ireland Funds Conference, who died suddenly
earlier this year. Derek Bell was the legendary harpist
and orchestral arranger for the five-time Grammy award winning
group the Chieftains, who favored The Funds with superb
entertainment at our events over the years and also received
The AIF 2002 Performing Arts Award at the New York dinner.
NEW VIDEO
Our thanks to Ed Eskandarian and Arnold Communications for
producing the new AIF video that premiered at the Boston
Dinner in November. Thanks also to Liam Neeson who generously
donated his time again this year to narrate the video. Copies
of our video are available from the Boston office.
DINNER JOURNAL
Our thanks to Mike Sheehan, President of Hill Holliday and
Advertising Chairman of the Boston Dinner and Dennis Farrington
of Hill Holliday for producing a record-breaking dinner
journal, raising over $300,000. It's theme was focused on
21 year-olds whose lives have been affected by the work
of The American Ireland Fund.
