The inaugural Young Leaders Ireland Visit was a tremendous
success with this vibrant group filling a very full
agenda. The trip provided the Young Leaders with the
powerful opportunity to see their philanthropy at work.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the visit
to several projects which the Young Leaders have supported.
The National Institute for Intellectual Disability
hosted a roundtable and luncheon and each Young Leader
was presented with a handmade piece of artwork from
a student currently in the NIID
Program.
The group also toured The
Belvedere Youth Club, where they were treated
to a very special performance by the Club’s drama
group. The compelling day truly showed the Young Leaders
how positively their contributions have impacted the
organizations they support.
The trip also gave the Young Leaders a chance to experience
the rich culture of Ireland. The group visited the Book
of Kells, where they had a private tour
of the treasured masterpiece, the Guinness Brewery,
where they were guided in pouring the perfect pint,
and the gardens at Powerscourt, where they viewed the
magnificent and historical landscape.
Over the course of the trip, The Young Leaders participated
in intriguing discussions with Mr. Bill Cullen, Chairman& CEO
of Renault Ireland, Dr. Eddie McParland, of Trinity
College, Ms. Mary Davis CEO of Special Olympics Ireland,
Mr. Fergus Finley, CEO of Barnardos and Mr. Kingsley
Aikins CEO, The Worldwide Ireland Funds.
