The 23rd Chicago Dinner was one of the most successful in the history of the event.

The Dinner was a platform to salute and celebrate the spirit of the Olympics. The honorees on the night were Patrick J. Hickey, President of the Olympic Council of Ireland and Member of The International Olympic Organisation, and Linda Mastandrea, World Sport Chicago. Part of the proceeds of the night will support the Irish Olympics and the wonderful local charity, World Sports Chicago.

Dinner Chair, Brendan McDonagh, spoke of how the work of the Fund was as crucial as ever, particularly, in relation to promoting reconciliation on the ground in Northern Ireland.

The AIF President, Kieran McLoughlin, developing the theme of sport, highlighted a wonderful project called PeacePlayers International which has introduced the neutral sport of Basketball to Children of Northern Ireland and of which the Fund is a major supporter.

AIF Chairman Loretta Brennan Glucksman thanked Brendan, his co-chairs, Stephen Grady, Denis Healy, Patrick Lynch, Thomas Meagher and Philip Purcell, and all who attended for the night’s great success. She congratulated them on the tremendous work it will provide for in Chicago and Ireland.

The evening’s celebration was crowned by a performance by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. The night was a wonderful testament to the closeness of this great city and the Old Country.

Auction Winners
A deluxe six star trip to Ireland was secured at the auction by Shirley and Pat Ryan.
