On Wednesday, September 17, 2008, The American Ireland Fund held the kickoff to its annual Chicago Dinner Gala.  The reception was held at the Four Seasons Hotel, the venue of the November 19th Dinner.

This was the first time a kick-off party has been held in Chicago and a great group of AIF Directors and friends of The American Ireland Fund came to meet our 2008 Honoree Father Jack Wall, President of the Catholic Church Extension Society.

Kieran McLoughlin, President of The American Ireland Fund, presided over the re-launch of The American Ireland Fund in Chicago.  He announced the appointment of our new Regional Chairman, Tom Meagher, our new Regional Board, and our new Regional Director, Roseann Finnegan LeFevour.  Kieran also updated the group on the latest news of The Ireland Funds worldwide. 

Tom Meagher, Chairman of the Chicago Regional Board, introduced Father Jack Wall and spoke about the Dinner this year and our contribution to Old St. Patrick’s Church in memory of our former Chicago Director, Ms. Bridget Hartigan Routh.

The evening concluded with a real sense of renewed interest in The American Ireland Fund in Chicago and a record level of early commitments to the Dinner resulted from this event
