What a stellar gathering it was.  The first day of the Christmas Season saw a gathering of all the Texas WineGeese at the Montaigne Club in Dallas.  Ken Gorman and John Sharkey, the New York members of the “Troika” jetted in for the festivities and to help with the induction of ten new members to The Ireland Funds WineGeese Society.

WineGeese wines served were as follows Château de La Ligne (Bordeaux, France), Murphy-Goode (Alexander Valley California), Leeuwin Estate (Margaret River, Australia), Chateau Montelena (Napa Valley, California), Limerick Lane Cellars (Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California), Montreaux Brut Sparkling Wine (Corley Family, Napa Valley, California), and Delamain XO Cognac and Bailey's Irish Cream.

Michael Collins,  owner of Limerick Lane Cellars and second generation Irish from Cork  joined us from Sonoma.  His award winning Zinfandel was served with the main course.  What a coincidence that joining the group for the occasion were Roger and Jean Downer, Liza O’Connor, and Eamonn Cregan from the University of Limerick.  Guess what their signature wine will be in future.

Michael, a good friend of our esteemed  Honorary Chairman Ted Murphy, invited us all to lunch at his vineyard when the Geese fly out to Sonoma next April.

John Sharkey and Ken Gorman, hosts of the October WineGeese dinner at the Sky Club in New York, were very complimentary about the evening to the third member of the Troika, John Tillotson despite being presented with Dallas Cowboy caps to wear at the Dallas-Giants game.

As usual the Texans closed the place down and the New York, California, and Houston guests were very glad that they only had to walk across the street to bed.
