The Corboys’ lakeside home was the setting for the annual “Welcome Irish Party” which signals the kick off for the Dallas four-day golf marathon. The setting, the company, the food, and even the weather co-operated as we all dined outside by the water.
Kingsley Aikins, President of The Ireland Funds, noted
that the first Welcome Irish party was held at the
Corboys’ home
ten years ago and so it was only fitting that the 10th
should be as well.
Lou Ann and Mike, as befitting the
Tournament Royalty that they are, were presented with
a King Waterford bowl. The Tierney family made a presentation
to the AIF of a marketing photo display, which is
badly needed for all future events. Mike Corboy made
a special presentation to Tommy and Sarah Gallagher
of dress cufflinks in gold and a gold drop for Sarah
both with the great seal of the State of Texas to commemorate
the 10th anniversary. Kevin Curley presented all the
visiting Irish with Black Stetsons.
Boy did all those
Paddies make good Cowboys. Watch out Clint Eastwood!
As always with a Corboy party, “it
was a night to remember.”
