The 9th year of the tournament saw most of the regular Irish golfers led by the incomparable Tommy Gallagher back in Dallas with a few familiar faces like Arthur French missing. However he made his presence felt by donating the use of his helicopter for the Dorsey Irish/Scotland Golf trip taken in May now on record as the best anyone has ever taken.

New Irish faces were Chris Goosen and Simon Deeney and new Texas faces were Jim Keyes and Daryl Johnston. After one of the most exciting finishes ever Father Simon Sleeman and Gareth McIlroy pulled out all the stops for a last minute victory for the Irish over the Texans who were ably represented by Dan Dooley and Paul Sullivan. Irish watch out in 2007 as “The eyes of Texas will be upon you.”

Welcome to the 9th annual Thomas Tierney Irish American Cup Challenge at Northwood Club! Nine years of great fun, great friendships forged and, of course, great support for The American Ireland Fund.

We heartily share the Fund's commitment to support projects dedicated to arts and culture, peace and reconciliation, community development and education in Ireland, both north and south. In addition to our support of The American Ireland Fund, we will again this year sponsor a group of Circle Ten Council Scouts on a trip to Ireland to participate in Scouting Ireland activities.

We are delighted to welcome back our Irish friends, many of whom have been here all nine years. We also welcome our first time participants - as out network expands, The American Ireland Fund expands - and that is vital for a strong and peaceful future in Ireland.

This tournament and all the fabulous weekend activities would have been impossible without the outstanding dedication and hard work of the committee, the generous support of our American and Irish sponsors, tournament participants, the Tierney family, and the Northwood Club staff and facilities. A heartfelt thanks to all!
