Texans on the hallowed grounds of St. Andrews, Tuesday, 17 June

On Wednesday, 18th June, the group travelled to Loch Tummel at Allean House, the Scottish home of June and Archie Bennett. The Bennetts converted an old ferry boat and brought it to the Loch for tours on the lake.

The Irish Texans visited the Castle Saunderson estate, located on the
Cavan/Fermanagh border, on the 25th of June where Chief Scout Peter Dixon was to mark the beginning of work on the Scout site.

possible venue for a Gaelic college

While travelling in Northern Ireland, Netta Blanchard -Director of the Dallas chapter of The American Ireland Fund, Ray Quinn , and Jean Kelly of
The Speedwell Trust visited a possible venue for a Gaelic college in Ballycastle on the northern Irish coast.

Our base in Edinburgh was the Howard Hotel, located in a renovated Georgian townhouse. The welcome dinner was held in the Cumberland Room.
