Sunday 15th June 2003
Arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland, transfer to our five
star hotel, The
Howard on Great King Street, in Edinburgh
for the next five nights. It was converted into a
hotel from three stylish Georgian houses.
The afternoon is free to explore Edinburgh,
one of Europe's greatest cities.
Welcome dinner at The Howard.
Overnight Edinburgh.
Monday 16th June 2003
The golfers depart for Carnoustie
Medal Golf Course. Golfers lunch at the club.
Non golfers visit Glamis
Castle, the home of the late Queen Mother, and
the surrounding area.
Dinner at Borthwick Castle, built in 1430 and once
the refuge of Mary Queen of Scots and the Earl of
Bothwell. Her ghost is said to haunt the castle still.
Overnight Edinburgh.
Tuesday 17th June 2003
Golfers depart for Kingsbarns Golf Course at St Andrews.
At only 2.5 years old, this course is ranked no. 46
in the world. (http://www.golfing-scotland.com/courses/kingbarns.asp)
Non-golfers tour the ancient town of St Andrews,
Scotland's oldest university town, the 12th century
cathedral and castle, and where Prince William is
currently enrolled.
Return to Edinburgh. Dinner at your leisure. (List
of Edinburgh restaurants will be provided.)
Overnight Edinburgh.
Wednesday 18th June 2003
Golfers depart for North Berwick and lunch at the club.
Non-golfers enjoy a walking tour of Edinburgh, including
the Royal Mile and Holyrood
Palace, and even find time to do some shopping
for tartans and tweeds.
Dinner at the Scottish home of June and Archie Bennett,
Allean House, near Pitlochry. Before the dinner we
will have a celebration at the church in Pitlochry
for Mary Ann and Gene Smith.

Thursday 19th June 2003
Late morning departure from Edinburgh for Loch Lomond
Golf Club (www.lochlomond.com and home of the 2003
Scottish Open). Non-golfers tour Edinburgh including
a visit to the National Gallery of Scotland with Sir
Timothy Clifford, Director.
Black Tie Dinner Loch Lomond Golf Club with special
guest, the Lord Provost of Scotland.
Overnight Edinburgh.
Friday 20th June 2003
Morning departure for Dublin Ireland from Edinburgh
Airport.
Friday, 20 June Met at Dublin Airport and taken to
your hotel.

Early tee time for golfers at Baltrae. Non-golfers
enjoy shopping and sightseeing in Dublin.
Opening Ceremony of Special Olympics World Games
at Croke Park

12:30 departure for Larch Hill in the Dublin
Mountains, the new home of the Scouts of Ireland.
Tour of facility and lunch.
Winegeese evening and wine tasting at Dublin's Mansion
House with honored guests from France and the United
States.

Day trip to Castle
Saunderson, on the Cavan/Fermanagh border. Sponsored
by the McHughs as guests of the Scouts.
Devon McHugh will give a tour of the Castle and grounds
and give a brief history of the Saunderson family
and their importance to the community during the Irish
Famine.
