Young Leaders Meet An Taoiseach Brian Cowen, TD - 7.16.08

On Wednesday, July 16th,  AIF  Young Leaders Kara Duffy and Sean Gaffey met Ireland’s new Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, during his first official visit as head of the Irish government. An Taoiseach enjoyed an action packed three days in New York and met  with an array of top officials and leading business professionals. The Young Leaders were invited to meet and pose with the Taoiseach before he hosted a cocktail reception at the Consulate.  

After chatting briefly with An Taoiseach, Young Leader Sean Gaffey reflected “It was a rare and incredible opportunity to welcome An Taoiseach Brian Cowen to our city, I hope we see him many times in the future.”  Fellow Young Leader Kara Duffy also remarked “meeting the Taoiseach and representing the AIF Young Leaders during his first official visit was such an honor, and I’ve never felt prouder of my Irish-American heritage.”
