The
NY Young Leaders
Appreciation Night at the Irish Arts Centre
- 9.26.07
 |
A group of New York Young Leaders attended a performance of the new drama ROCK DOVES, by Olivier-Award winner playwright Marie Jones, on September 26th.
Set in Belfast, a thriving city now that "The Troubles" are over, ROCK DOVES brings to life four wild and colorful characters: a homeless man, an aging prostitute, a reluctant transvestite, and a teenager who thinks he is still fighting the war. In Marie Jones' signature comedic style, ROCK DOVES is an affectionate exploration of the resilience and humanity of people who will do anything to survive.
This special event held at the Irish Arts Centre was organized in appreciation of the Young Leaders support of philanthropic projects across the island of Ireland. Guests were treated to an outstanding performance of what the New
York Times described as an “engaging comedy” and had the opportunity to celebrate with cast members after the show for an après performance pint!
