Regional Advisory Board |
The New York Regional Advisory
Board is the first regional advisory board within
The American Ireland Fund. It meets twice a year
to guide and direct the organization in this
major marketplace. At its recent June 2007 meeting,
the board reviewed the successful implementation
of the New York Development Plan thus far and
discussed the future direction of the Funds.

| Gallery Circle |
The Gallery Circle
is designed to provide donors with the opportunity
to experience a deeper connection with Irish
culture through the arts.
The Gallery Circle took the New York Dinner
Committee to see Broadway play, The Seafarer.
This wonderful Irish play, by award winning
dramatist Colin McPherson, boasts a stellar
cast and has received rave reviews. It is
a funny, tragic, shocking and, yet, uplifting
story about temptation and redemption.

| Leadership
Forum |
The Leadership
Forum is an occasional series of round table
discussions with Ireland's political, economic
and cultural leaders that offers AIF supporters
the opportunity to receive "off-the-record" news
about current affairs in Ireland.
Nobel Laureate and champion of human rights,
Archbishop Desmond Tutu visited The American
Ireland Fund for a luncheon and open discussion
with a group of top AIF supporters.
Tutu was greeted most warmly by attendees with a standing ovation upon his arrival.
Captivating the guests, the Archbishop spoke
anecdotally of the racial struggles in South
Africa and the end of the Apartheid. He described
the central process of forgiveness in healing
an injured society. He talked of the need
for a similar process to reconcile the two
communities in Northern Ireland.

| The WineGeese Society |
The term Winegeese
is inspired by the story of the Wild Geese — a romantic term coined
to describe a group of émigrés
who fled Ireland after the Battle of Kinsale
in the 17th century. Many of these families settled
in France and established successful wineries
throughout the Irish Diaspora.
The WineGeese Society in the beautiful
surroundings of L&M Art Gallery, the New York chapter
of the WineGeese gathered to celebrate art and
wine as an entity for its most recent event,
Paint & Palate.
