EDUCATING AND INTEGRATING
Peace has been achieved in Northern Ireland but the two communities have yet to be reconciled. For instance, less than 6% of Catholic and Protestant children are educated together. The proceeds of this Dinner will support major initiatives bringing young people together to build a new Northern Ireland based on acceptance and mutual respect.

SESAME STREET COMES TO NORTHERN IRELAND
The American Ireland Fund has committed, through this Dinner, very significant support to that icon of American Culture, Sesame Street. Beyond its core programming, Sesame Street operates in areas of conflict or deprivation including Israel, Palestine, Kosovo and South Africa. It uses its unique formula to promote the values of tolerance, acceptance and understanding among children. Sesame Street will produce programs in Northern Ireland to help tackle the deep divisions there. Given that children as young as three years of age display prejudices in Northern Ireland, its work will be of crucial importance. The American Ireland Fund is delighted to support this historic initiative and proud to help create a new beginning for a new generation

J O U R N A L  A D V E R T I S I N G
