On Sunday, March 13th, The American Ireland Fund and sponsors
Sean Rooney, The Haverford Trust Company and Cozen O'Connor
hosted the 4th annual Afternoon with The Chieftains
at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in downtown
Philadelphia.
Following the typical award-winning performance by The
Chieftains, AIF guests and Golf Committee members gathered
in the Cadence Restaurant for a reception which included
a visit from Paddy Maloney and the band. Guests were then
introduced to Joseph McLaughlin, President of The Haverford
Trust Company, as the Chairman of the 4th Annual AIF Philadelphia
Golf Classic.
With Philadelphia's St. Patrick's Day parade concluded
just hours before, the festive mood of the afternoon was
enhanced when Jim Lynch, President & CEO of Sovereign
Bank Mid-Atlantic and last year's Committee Chairman, announced
that the AIF Phildelphia Golf Classic had raised $640,000
to date to support worthy projects throughout Ireland.
Next up is the 4th Annual Philadelphia Golf Classic taking
place on Monday, September 19th at the Philadelphia Cricket
Club and the ACE Club.
