INAUGURAL PHILADELPHIA GOLF CLASSIC 2002

Under splendid September skies, 172 golfers descended upon bucolic Flourtown, PA to play in the Inaugural AIF Philadelphia Golf Classic at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s fabled Wissahickon and Militia Hill courses.

Driven by a strong and dedicated committee, led by Cozen O’Connor President and CEO, Patrick J. O’Connor, the Golf Classic raised $100,000 for the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2003.

The success of the Golf Classic, and the announcement that evening of the first AIF Donor Advised Fund in Philadelphia — the $100,000 Durkin Family Fund established by Dennis and Audrey Durkin — firmly establishes Philadelphia as the newest member of The Ireland Funds’ international network of cities connecting the Irish Diaspora.

The golf committee is already hard at work on next year’s outing at Philly Cricket for the 2nd Annual AIF Philadelphia Golf Classic on September 22, 2003.
