INAUGURAL PHILADELPHIA GOLF CLASSIC 2002
Under splendid September skies, 172 golfers descended upon
bucolic Flourtown, PA to play in the Inaugural AIF Philadelphia
Golf Classic at The Philadelphia Cricket Clubs fabled
Wissahickon and Militia Hill courses.
Driven by a strong and dedicated committee, led by Cozen
OConnor President and CEO, Patrick J. OConnor,
the Golf Classic raised $100,000 for the Special Olympics
World Summer Games 2003.
The success of the Golf Classic, and the announcement that
evening of the first AIF Donor Advised Fund in Philadelphia
the $100,000 Durkin Family Fund established by Dennis
and Audrey Durkin firmly establishes Philadelphia
as the newest member of The Ireland Funds international
network of cities connecting the Irish Diaspora.
The golf committee is already hard at work on next years
outing at Philly Cricket for the 2nd Annual AIF Philadelphia
Golf Classic on September 22, 2003.
