On Friday May, 21, 500 people gathered at Heinz Field
to honor Elsie & Henry Hillman and the Hillman Family
for their philanthropic endeavors in Pittsburgh.
Guests at the Chairman’s Reception, held in the
Steelers Locker Room, were invited to have their photos
taken with the Steelers four (4) Super Bowl trophies or
in front of their favorite player’s locker. Once
they had their pictures taken, they were whisked to the
East Club Lounge, where they joined the other guests.
Guests entering the East Club Lounge, which had been transformed
into “H. Hillman’s Pub” and “Elsie’s
Pub and Store” for the night, were welcomed by the
Carnegie Mellon Pipe & Drum Band. When they stepped
off the elevator, guests were greeted by a Guinness Beer
truck. The pub featured entertainment by Comhaltas Ceoltuiri…Ireann,
playing traditional Irish music as well as dancing by the
Coleman Brothers, Garrett, the reigning All Ireland Champion
(under 16), Kieran, and Conor.
Prior to dinner, guests enjoyed a brief program that featured
a video of Hillman Family photos and Garrett Coleman’s
award winning dance. After the program, guests were entertained
by Guaranteed Irish with Dave Hanner.
