A native New Yorker, Jeffrey Romoff came to Pittsburgh
in 1973 to head the Regional Education and Programming
Division at WesternPsychiatric Institute and Clinic
(WPIC).

In the ensuing years, Mr. Romoff became the administrator
of WPICand vice president for Health Sciences at the
University of Pittsburgh. In 1992, he was appointed
senior vice chancellor for Health Administration at
the University and president of the University of
Pittsburgh Medical Center. Today, he continues to
serve as president of UPMC. Under his bold and dynamic
leadership, UPMC has evolved into the leading integrated
health care delivery system in western Pennsylvania.
One of the largest not-for-profit integrated health
care systems in the United States, it is also the
areas largest employer with 35,000 employees.
The Pittsburgh American Ireland Fund is proud to
recognize Mr. Romoff this evening with the 2003 Chairmans
Award, its highest honor.
