On Thursday March 10th, Jane and Bill Walsh hosted a special
dinner at their beautiful home in Atherton, CA. The evening
was
arranged to welcome the National Board Members to San Francisco
for the first Board Meeting of 2005. Guests included The
American Ireland Fund Chairman, Loretta Brennan Glucksman,
AIF Executive Committee President Kip Condron and AIF CEO
Kingsley Aikins.
All local San Francisco Board Members
attended including Jon Folan, Maryon Davies Lewis, Pauline
Ryan,
Craig Sullivan and Bill Walsh. Other Board Members present
included Sheila O' Malley from New York, Mike Corboy
from Dallas, Chuck Daly from Boston and John Duffy also
from
New York. They were joined by Dan Mulvihill and John
Lynch from
San Diego, Ed Timmins from Denver and Bill McNally from
Boston. Fran Van Kirk from Philadelphia and Brian Monaghan
from
San Diego also flew in to San Francisco for Friday's
meetings.
Enjoying a rare San Francisco heatwave, guests
toured the
grounds before dinner while enjoying the melodic sounds
of harpist
Julie Desmond. Chef Mark Sullivan of The Village Pub
in Woodside (son of Board Member, Craig) did an outstanding
job and
received rave reviews. Winegeese wine from Molly Chappellet
provided a very special touch. This warm, wonderful
evening was rounded off by a performance by tenor, Tom
Burke
who
sang some of our favorites before we bid our goodbyes.
