On Wednesday October 26th, the San Francisco National Board Members gave a wonderful warm welcome to Jack and Joan McGraw, 2006 Gala Dinner joint honorees.

Jack and Joan McGraw will receive the Distinguished Leadership Award on Friday March 3rd at the St. Francis Hotel. The McGraws hosted pre-dinner cocktails at their splendid Atherton home and guests were greeted by a roaring fire and lively chat. Board Members Bill Walsh, Jon Folan and Bart Murphy were present and joined by a treasured group of longtime San Francisco dinner supporters including Gabriel Jackson and Peter Renstrom, Kathleen Ryan, Bob Ferris, Jane Walsh, Gail Folan, Eileen Moore, dinner coordinator Maryanne Murray and her husband John.

The Ireland Funds' CEO, Kingsley Aikins gave a great overview of the state of the Fund, peppered with several amusing anecdotes. San Franciscisco Regional Director, Marjorie Muldowney, highlighted the McGraws long list of achievements, including their support for several educational projects in Ireland.

Following dinner at Chantilly Restaurant, Bill Walsh spoke magnificently, weaving in the names of all present and the part they have played in the San Francisco American Ireland Fund over the years. It was a night to remember.

Roll on March 3rd 2006 and the gala celebration in honor of Jack and Joan McGraw. See you there!
