THE PEACE AWARD

In 2000, The American Ireland Fund created THE PEACE AWARD to recognize an individual who has provided outstanding leadership in promoting the Peace Process in Northern Ireland. The first presentation of The Peace Award was made to President William Jefferson Clinton. The second presentation of The Peace Award was made at The 10th National Gala to An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern.

This Year The third presentation of The Peace Award will be made to Prime Minister Tony Blair for his efforts to promote peace in Ireland. While much work remains to be done to ensure the full implementation of The Good Friday Agreement, The Prime Minister is recognized for his past efforts and continued commitment to the Peace Process.
