The outstanding journalist Mary McGrory, who was presented with the AIF Humanitarian Award in Washington on March 16th, passed away recently.

We honored her for her distringuished writing, her eloquence and her courage and, of course, her love of Ireland.

Mary McGrory won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1975. She made her life and her mark in Washington, but she was Boston Irish to the core. She was born August 22, 1918 and died Aprril 20, 2004.
