Melbourne Supporter’s Reception : 21 Feb 2008

On Thursday the 21 February, Melbourne Australian Ireland Fund Directors Mary Waldron hosted the 2008 Melbourne Supporters Reception. The event was held in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Board room overlooking Southbank were guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés.

Special guests at the event included H.E Ambassador Máirtín Ó Fainín who gave our supporters an update on the political and economic climate in Ireland and the political climate in Northern Ireland. The Ambassador thanked guests and supporters and told them that their support is vital to the work of the Australian Ireland Fund and this work needs to continue despite the economic success of Southern Ireland.

Also in attendance were Australian Ireland Fund Directors Kevin Luscombe AM and Ted Johnson, Executive Director Teresa Keating and Governor Brendan O’Brien.

The event was a great opportunity to thank all those who supported and contributed to the Australian Ireland fund helping make 2007 a successful year. It also gave the opportunity to let everyone know of the upcoming events in 2008 such as the 2008 Melbourne Gala Luncheon which will take place at ‘ZINC’ at Federation Square on Sunday, 20 April.
