Worldwide Meetings >

Governor and Director Peter Ryan, Governor Toni Ryan, Governor and Director Briege Tuite and Executive Director Teresa Keating of the Australian Ireland Fund were joined at the Worldwide meetings in Ireland in 2006 by the new Australian Ambassador to Ireland Mrs. Anne Plunkett.

The meetings included a visit to Glencraig Integrated Primary School, which began the processes of transformation in 2003. The visit provided an opportunity for us to talk face to face with pupils and teachers and was very informative. The pupils performed for us and it was delightful.

The conference also provided an opportunity for us to meet with the co-founders of Tara Counselling and Personal Development project of Omagh, which is being supported by the Australian Ireland Fund .

We also visited Youth Action’s new premises in Belfast which are due to open in December 06.

We received an update from Northern Ireland Children’s Enterprise Director, Carmel McCavana in Australia House, Stockman’s Lane, Belfast and met with a number of pupils who had just undertaken NICE’s “Growing up in a Divided Society Programme”.
