The Australian Ambassador to Ireland took up his
new posting in Ireland just a few months ago.
On his trip back to Australia, we took the opportunity
to invite Ambassador Herron to talk to our Directors
and Governors about the work of the Ireland Funds
in Ireland.
To that end, in April we were delighted to host two
receptions for the new Australian Ambassador to Ireland
H.E. Dr. John Herron.
The first was at the offices of Chairman Charles
Curran AO, Chairman of The Australian Ireland Fund.
The Judges House is the oldest residence
in Sydney and the second oldest in Brisbane. The gatherings
were an opportunity for Ambassador Herron to tell
friends of the Ireland Funds, including Governors,
Directors, Benefactors and Sponsors, of his first
impressions of the situation in Ireland.
The Ambassador explained that he has now seen the
vital work of the Ireland Funds at first hand and
is keen to remain actively involved.
