On Friday, October 29th Charles Coffey, O.C. kindly hosted a special luncheon for the friends of The Ireland Fund of Canada in the Royal Bank's Toronto head office board room.

The event provided an opportunity for the past Chairs and Board Directors of the Fund to gather with the present Directors and donors who contribute their time and generosity to projects such as "Bring A Kid to Camp in Canada" and The Ireland Park Foundation.

Mr. Coffey superbly orchestrated a most enjoyable and elegant luncheon for 65 guests including The Honourable John N. Turner, Former Prime Minister: with greetings from the Government of Canada by Senator David Smith, blessing and grace by Reverend Edward Jackman, O.P., presentations by Daithi Connaughton, Director of the Fund and Robert G. Kearns, Chair of Ireland Park Foundation.

Malachy McCourt, Author, Playwright and Actor was the special guest of the luncheon and both engaged and charmed all by recounting his life's journey, highlighting The Ireland Funds as a cause to be embraced and reciting W.B. Yeats' poem, "The Stolen Child" and closing with a rousing "Go Lassie Go" that had all singing the chorus.
