TORONTO - Emerald Ball 2002
The 2002 Toronto Emerald Ball was held last October in
the Fairmont Royal York. Guests perused the silent auction
items and a beautiful display by Waterford crystal. A traditional
Irish band provided the entertainment and special appearances
by Molly and Leopold Bloom had everyone smiling. After a
lovely dinner, renowned tenor Michael Colvin took the stage,
followed by The Graham Howes Orchestra and a trio of traditional
and modern Irish dancers.
We were delighted and privileged to have General John de
Chastelain as our Guest of Honour this year. We were also
honored that Noreen OSullivan, First Secretary, representing
the Embassy of Ireland, and Sheila Towe, Consul Commercial,
representing the British Consulate, joined us. CIBC World
Markets was very proud to once again be the Evening Patron
of this very special event.
Thank you to all who attended and to those who worked to
ensure that the evening was a success. We look forward to
seeing you at next years Emerald Ball on October 17th,
2003.

OTTAWA - The 12th Annual Emerald
Ball
The Twelfth Annual Emerald Ball was held on May 4th at
the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa.
We were privileged to have such special guests attend,
including Irish Ambassador Martin Burke, representatives
from the British High Commission, and a host of Ottawa's
business leaders. We also had many remarkable performances
including dancers from the Sue Faye Healy School of Irish
Dancing, the musical magic of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí
Eireann, a fabulous new dance band and members of the Tara
Players Theatre of Ottawa, a recent grant recipient.
We are so grateful to have the opportunity to bring together
people who share the same values and objectives of peace
and reconciliation in the area of arts and culture, education
and community development.

EDMONTON -9th Annual Emerald
Ball
The Edmonton Chapter held its 9th Annual Emerald Ball
on March 16th at the Westin Hotel.
Our special guests, Paddy Doherty and Glen Barr of Border
Horizons, Northern Ireland, held all 250 people in the palm
of their hands during their speech.
A sold-out event, the evening raised the largest net amount
in its history. Entertainment included the Edmonton Children's
Choir, the Mattierin School of Irish Dance and the Celtic
Showband. A truly superb evening.

Board Member
