An Evening with Charlie Coffey : 9th March 2006

There is never enough Coffey for The Ireland Fund of Canada! On Thursday, March 9th 2006, our consummate host and dear friend of the Fund, Charlie Coffey, O.C. opened the doors of the 40th floor at the Royal Bank of Canada to entertain our sponsors and friends with an elegant WineGeese Tasting Dinner.

Magic occurred with the backdrop of the Puffin trio and some piano playing by local celebrity Eamonn O'Loghlin for all guests in attendance to taste the superb wines of Peninsula Ridge. We were most fortunate to have with us that evening, Ambassador Martin Burke and Mrs. Mary Burke, Ted Murphy, Honourary Chair of the WineGeese Society and Mrs. Garry Murphy recently arrived from Cork, Ireland to help promote the WineGeese to the IFOC and John Maxwell, proprietor of Allen's on the Danforth to guide us in our tasting selections.

It was a most enjoyable evening and with the delicious Irish dinner concluded all enjoyed a Jamesons Irish Coffee and a gift bag from our kind sponsor Jamesons
.
