"Building Bridges, Breaking Borders" Garden Party : 8.16. 2006

On August 16th under sunny skies British Consul General Mr. Nicholas Armour hosted a Garden Party at his residence for the “Building Bridges Breaking Borders” youth leadership program.

“Building Bridges Breaking Borders” is a youth leadership program focused on giving influential young leaders from Ireland a voice in society. These young people come from diverse backgrounds and geographical areas. Each of these teenagers had earned the right by showing leadership capacity within their local areas. The program focused on helping them communicate more effectively, and learn the skills necessary for participation within peace and reconciliation, as well as in youth participation initiatives.

The Garden Party was a great opportunity for guests to meet the 13 teenage volunteer executives from the Northern Ireland Forum in our Canada/Ireland endeavour. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

Heartfelt gratitude to Mark Dowds, IFOC Director and Muskoka Woods Camp who were instrumental in the success of the program.
