Two hundred and twenty guests enjoyed
an evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing and good craic
on the banks of Ottawa’s Rideau Canal at the Fairmont
Chateau Laurier.

Features of the Evening included
a silent auction of a dinner for ten as guests of the
Irish Ambassador and his wife at their official residence
and an oil painting by prominent artist Heidi Conrod;
a live auction of a week’s stay at Terry Cross’ Chateau
de la Ligne in Bordeaux put together by Ted Murphy; and
a raffle prize of a handcrafted white gold bangle with
a sparkling emerald setting designed and crafted by
Shane Alexander of Goldform Jewellers, as well as travel
packages donated by both West Jet and Air Canada.
Guests Included The Honourable Jim
Flaherty, Minister of Finance, was the evening’s
keynote speaker regaling a generous audience that included
His Excellency Ambassador Declan Kelly, His Excellency
High Commissioner Anthony Cary, Minister of Health Promotion
Jim Watson, retired General John de Chastelain, Saint
Paul University Rector Dale Schlitt, and the Ireland
Fund of Canada’s National Director and Ottawa Chapter
President Patrick W. Murray. Dinner committee members
included co-chairs Jane Daly and Patrick Dion, who also
emceed the event, Laurel Murray, Elizabeth Murphy, Brian
Murray, Christopher Spiteri, Beatrice Ross, and Erin
Clatney.
