It was perfect weather on September 28th, 2007 for a Day at the Races at Woodbine
Racetrack. Many guests arrived in their fanciest hats and best clothes for
a fun Irish day of horse racing, live auction, silent auction and raffle!
We were honoured to have Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty, Ambassador of
Ireland Declan Kelly, City TV Sports Anchor Jim McKenny and Toronto FC player
Ronnie O’Brien as our guests.
Our guests enjoyed the charm and talents of our Master of Ceremonies Hugo Straney and the team auctioneering he did with Jim McKenny.

Heartfelt gratitude to the inspiring Co-Chairs; Eithne Heffernan and Kevin Gallagher, the hard working Committee and volunteers who were instrumental in helping us to exceed funds raised in past years to be donated in support of the Artist in Residence Programme at St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto.
Eithne Heffernan has been Chair / Co-Chair of the Ireland Fund of Canada’s Annual Day at the Races for 11 years. This year Eithne announced she would be retiring from the role. The Ireland Fund of Canada would like to thank Eithne for her inspiration, dedication and success in leading this event for the past 11 years.
