The Concert Hall at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto shimmered and sparkled as the Ireland Fund of Canada presented its Silver Anniversary Emerald Ball, commemorating 25 years of extraordinary evenings celebrating Irish culture and raising funds for Irish charities.

Thank you to our Patron Event Sponsor, The Hon. Hilary M. Weston, CM, OOnt who is also the founder of the Ireland Fund of Canada, to our Pillar Sponsor Guinness / Diageo Canada, Shorcan Brokers Ltd, Scotiabank, Weston Bakeries, President Choice Financial, Jovian Capital, CIBC, Arrow Hedge Partners and Magna International.

We were honoured to have The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, Charges D’Affaires Karl Gardiner, British High Commissioner Anthony Cary, British Consul General Nicholas Armour and Toronto Chief of Police William Blair as our guests.

Our Guest Speaker for the evening was President and CEO of The Worldwide Ireland Funds, Kingsley Aikins who was the highlight of our evening with his speech that had captivated all of our guests with his humor.

During the dinner our guests were entertained by Eithne Heffernan playing the Harp, a Capella group The Essentials, wandering violinist, Irish Dancers and had an opportunity to be the winning bidders on our Live Auction items sponsored by Chateau de la Ligne, Tourism Ireland, Zoom Airlines, Druids Glen Golf and Philip Armstrong.

The evening ended with our guests dancing the night away to the great sounds of the Celtic Rock Band, Coole Park.

The Ireland Fund of Canada would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Linda Armstrong, Chair Emerald Ball Committee, all Committee members and volunteers for their dedication and time.
