€15,000 DONATED BY THE IRELAND FUNDS
TO TEMPLE STREET CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Friday, 20th August 2004, The Ireland Fund of Canada
presented €15,000 to Temple Street Children’s
Hospital. This donation will go towards purchasing a much
needed EEG Laptop Machine, which is used to monitor a child’s
brain activity, particularly in detecting the source of
seizures.
Miss World, Rosanna Davison presented the cheque to Dr.
Bryan Lynch, Neurology Department, Temple Street Children’s
Hospital on behalf of The Ireland Funds of Canada. She
was accompanied by Mr. Kieran McLoughlin, Director Ireland,
The Ireland Funds and Ms. Eleanor McGrath, Director, The
Ireland Fund Of Canada.
Speaking at the event Mr. Kieran McLoughin said
“Temple Street Hospital is one of this Country’s
great institutions which provides such wonderful care and
support to children and their families and we are delighted
to be able to assist”.
The Fundraising Office were delighted to receive this
donation and said
“We at Temple Street Hospital are delighted to be
receiving this donation today, we
would like to thank Rosanna Davison and The Ireland Fund
of Canada for all the
good they endeavour to do. We are truly honoured and very
grateful to you and all
your colleagues in Ireland and throughout the world”.

The Ireland Fund of Canada is a branch of The Ireland
Funds which operate in 10 countries raising monies for
good causes across Ireland, North and South. The Ireland
Funds recently celebrated the successful conclusion of
their 5 year $100 million ‘Hope and History’ campaign.
In fact the campaign raised over $111 million. Over 1,200
non-profit organisations in Ireland that promote peace
and reconciliation, arts and culture, education and community
development have benefited from The Fund’s grants
over the last 27 years.
Temple Street Children's University Hospital was established
in 1872 as a hospital for the poor children of Dublin under
the care of the Sisters of Charity. Now under the care
of the Sisters of Mercy and renamed The Children's University
Hospital it now provides an acute paediatric service and
specialist paediatric healthcare for children from all
over the country.
