William J. Neill
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude
to William J. Neill for his many years as Chair of The Ireland
Fund of Canada. Under his leadership the Fund underwent a
transformation of its volunteer structure, its reach to both
individuals and corporate Canada, and the landmark 25 th
Anniversary year celebrations and fund raising targets since
its founding in 1978. The Fund successfully completed several
$100,000 fund raising targets including the Celtic Studies
Programme at the University of St. Michael’s College,
University of Toronto and Special Olympics Canada for the
2003 Dublin Games.
We are pleased that Mr. Neill will continue on the Board
as Past Chair and Chair, Nominations Committee seeking new
Board members and supporting Chapter Development. Again,
many thanks to you Bill for all that you have done for the
Fund!
Joseph Murphy and Colm O’Carroll
We wish to acknowledge the wonderful contribution made by
the following two men who retired from the National Board
of Directors in 2004/2005: Joseph Murphy and Colm O’Carroll.
Both of these gentlemen retired from active work as Directors
but kindly remain dedicated volunteers.
The Ireland Fund of Canada grew exponentially because of
their work and vision – Joseph Murphy for his contribution
to the Annual Toronto St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon and
the John Dunne Golf Classic
Colm O’Carroll as a Founding Director of the Edmonton
Chapter and Past Chair of the Grants Committee.
Many thanks to both of these tremendous volunteers and we
look forward to your continued support and guidance.
