On September 6th The Ireland Fund of Germany (IFoG) held its annual Dinner. The event took place in Binz and matched with the spectacular environment of the Island of Ruegen. Known as the "Nice of the North", Ruegen is Germany`s popular seaside resort at the Baltic Sea.
The Chairman of IFoG, Elmar Conrads-Hassel, and his wife, Dr. Ursula Hassel, hosted the evening and were pleased to welcome Kingsley Aikins, President and CEO of The Ireland Funds Worldwide; the Irish Ambassador to Germany, H.E. David Donoghue and the Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, T.D. as guests of honour and speakers at the Dinner.

TCD`s registrar, Prof Juergen Barkhoff traveledto Binz to accept the prize for the University at the Dinner.
The proceeds of the event were once again donated to Barretstown Gang Camp, based in Co. Kildare in Ireland. The Camp gives children from 20 European countries with serious illnesses, an opportunity to experience the joy of a typical summer camp - free of charge and with round-the-clock medical care.
