Objective of the Grant Round
The objective of the grant round is to enable as many organisations as possible to fund new and innovative responses to social need. When a project has proven its capacity, often on the back of a grant round gift, the Funds may bring it to the attention of individual donors for consideration. This policy determines the number and size of awards.

Projects seeking larger grant amounts (> €25,000) will not be processed through this Grant Round. Such proposals will be considered on an individual basis for possible presentation to donors.

Size of Awards
The maximum award available is €25,000.
The average award is €7,000.
There is no minimum award.

Evaluation
Projects will be evaluated and presented for consideration by the Board of The Worldwide Ireland Funds. Their decision is final and we regret that we are unable to enter into conversations or correspondence regarding the decision of the Board. Lobbying will disqualify.

Thank you

The Ireland Funds will continue to bring updates on the vital work being accomplished through donors’ generosity to the Promising Ireland Campaign. Here is a selection of thanks from just a few of the Irish charities receiving support from The Ireland Funds’ Promising Ireland Campaign:

“We just received our notification that we are receiving funding from The Ireland Funds. I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for taking the time to meet with us to learn about our cause and the work we do. We are delighted to receive your funding. It is greatly needed and appreciated.”

“I just learned that The Ark will receive a grant from The Ireland Funds’ Promising Ireland Campaign towards our music programme this summer. I just wanted to let you know how truly grateful we are – this is wonderful news for the work and most importantly, for the hundreds of children and families who will be engaged and directly impacted through the project. “
Tanya Allen, The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children

“I got great news this morning that we have been successful with our application for funding towards our Drive Ahead project. A major portion of our project funding comes from statutory funding sources which have been subject to significant cuts over the last number of years. It is anticipated that these cuts will continue and therefore running our services to the professional standard we are proud of is becoming extremely challenging. There is very little alternative funding available. It is fantastic that you have offered your small grant round this year and that we are one of the lucky recipients.”
Nicola Jordan, DEPAUL IRELAND

"We were delighted to receive support from The Ireland Funds. The grant means that we can run our Stand Up! Don't Stand for Homophobic Bullying Campaign into every school in Ireland for another year. The campaign has been a huge success so far and has been commended by Ireland’s Minister for Education Ruairi Quinn. It is so important to us that this grant comes now, because the demand for our services has more than doubled in 2010, while at the same time our government funding was cut back by 20%. We simply cannot meet the urgent needs of young people, parents and schools without these significant new investments. It makes all the difference."
Michael Nanci Barron, BeLonG To Youth Services

“Thank you! I was thrilled to receive the news of our grant award. I hope that this is the beginning of a relationship that will help realise the potential of children for generations to come.”
Mark Lloyd, The Blue Box Creative Learning Centre

“That is fantastic news! The funding will go along way towards developing Speedpak’s Distance Travelled model. Thanks again for visiting us recently and for recommending us. We look forward to working with The Ireland Funds.”
John Murphy, Speedpak

“I am delighted to receive your email advising that Pieta House will be the recipient of a grant through your Promising Ireland Campaign. Your support means so much to us particularly as 80% of our income is raised through the goodwill and support of organisations such as The Ireland Funds, voluntary contributions and our own fundraising efforts.”
Cathy Kelly, Pieta House

“We are delighted to receive the news of the grant. Thank you for choosing Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind from what I am sure were many worthy applications.”
Padraig Mallon, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind
