In 2009, The IFGB distributed over £500,000 to community organisations across the UK that seek to address the needs of the ‘forgotten Irish.’
This is the largest grant round The IFGB has ever distributed to date, supporting nearly 50 organisations in cities like Leeds, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Newcastle.
How we raise funds
The IFGB does not receive or seek to receive government funding and we rely on donations from private individuals, corporations and other non-statutory sources. We host fundraising events, prize draws and auctions all proceeds of which go toward our Grant Rounds.
We are grateful to all our Corporate Partners who have given generously. Their contribution ensures that the maximum amount of your donation goes directly to the organisations we support, rather than on administration and fundraising costs.
What do we do with the money we raise?
The IFGB invites charities, community groups and voluntary organisations to apply for a grant from The IFGB, usually on an annual basis. These Grants are used to fund organisations that provide essential services to members of the Irish community across the UK. Grants are only distributed following a thorough assessment of all applications by our Grants Assessment Committee. |
