The
10th Annual Autumn Ball, held on 8th October remains
one of the most
fun and popular events in Britain. Much of the evening’s
success is thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm
of committee members Tom and Sarah Gallagher and
Michael and Freddie Linnett.
The evening started in
style with a champagne reception sponsored by Gallagher.
The ever-popular “Celtic
Challenge” quiz has now become an essential
part of the evening’s fun. Competition was
so fierce this year that it came down to a nail biting
musical tiebreaker to decide the winners.
This event helped us to
raise funds for projects in the UK & Ireland and specifically “Ireland
in Schools”. This project aims to promote better
understanding between the British and Irish communities
through the introduction of study of Ireland and
Irish literature into the UK educational curriculum.
