The Ireland Funds’ London City Luncheon

The event was held this year at the Park Lane
Hotel on Piccadilly where some 300 international
business leaders gathered for the afternoon.
The Luncheon raised over £130,000 profit which
will support projects in the UK and Ireland.

The London City Luncheon was relaunched in 2005 and
is sponsored by Anglo Irish Bank. Thanks also to
Independent News & Media for their ongoing
assistance.
The London City Luncheon was once again co-chaired
by IFGB trustees, Peter Kiernan and John Rowan.
Both of whom co-chair The Ireland Funds’ campaign
to assist the elderly and vulnerable Irish
in Britain – The Forgotten Irish campaign.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Peter Kiernan, following his moving introduction
about the plight of the elderly and vulnerable Irish in Britain, introduced
this year’s key-note speaker, the Chief Executive of Ryanair, Michael
O’Leary. Mr O’Leary spoke of the challenges facing his business
today and in the future and of the outstanding success of Ireland’s economy
over the past 10 years. |
