Annual Grant Round
The IFGB’s primary focus is to raise and distribute money to groups that specifically help the many vulnerable and elderly Irish in the UK. We provide funding to Irish community organisations throughout the UK and Ireland, whose focus is to support those in health, housing, social or psychological need through our annual grant round.
Projects based in the Republic of Ireland are supported by The IFGB through our Donor Advised Gifts programme and the number of Donor Advised Grants we provided amounted to almost half a million pounds in 2007 alone.
Over half a million pounds sterling awarded to projects in 2008
In 2008 the Trustees of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain approved grants amounting to over £500,000.00.Grants were given to over 50 organisations throughout the UK that help and support vulnerable and isolated Irish people.
These organisations are a lifeline
Some of these organisations have complex outreach programmes available to help the most vulnerable, others are simply a weekly lunch club where lonely Irish people can meet old friends and make new ones. Many of these organisations are a lifeline to tens of thousands older Irish people living in the UK today.
Thank you
Our Grant Round is only made possible by the generous donations received by IFGB supporters and Members, and through the fundraising events that are held throughout the year.
