Her abstract paintings evoke Irish landscape and are
becoming increasingly sought after, both in Ireland
and abroad.
Kate currently lives and works in Dublin after obtaining
her fine art degree from Edinburgh College of Art in
2001.
At the age of 26, she has had an impressive career,
exhibiting regularly in Ireland and Britain, and in
2005 alone she had two successful shows at the Cross
Gallery and the Lemonstreet Gallery, Dublin. Her work
is held in many private and public collections throughout
Ireland and Britain including Allied Irish Bank, Office
of Public Works and University College Dublin.
Kate began her “Source Series” in May
2004. These paintings have a direct and romantic appeal;
images of mountain tops, horizons, skies, fields and
natural vegetation dominate the work. She uses acrylics,
oils and wax to create canvases that use constructed
combinations of shapes, pattern, colour and painterly
gestures.
Kate is currently working on commissions and preparing
her first solo show at Mermaid Arts Centre, Wicklow
in September 2006.
