Breakfast Meeting at the US Ambassador’s Residence - 18 Sept 2009
On 18th & 19th September, the Irish Government is hosted a Global Irish Economic Forum of the Irish Diaspora in Farmleigh Dublin. Over 150 senior business executives from around the world are attending. Some 20 of these are actively involved with The Ireland Funds.
The Forum began at midday on Friday September 18th and that morning The Ireland Funds’ co-founder and now US Ambassador, Dan Rooney hosted a breakfast meeting in the Embassy Residence in Phoenix Park for The Ireland Funds’ supporters. This was an opportunity to discuss the Forum and also the report prepared by The Ireland Funds entitled A Comparative Review of International Diaspora Strategies which looks at various countries’ Diaspora strategies, especially those in Israel and India, and suggests some initiatives Ireland might consider.
