HOPE & HISTORY CAMPAIGN
• The Hope & History Campaign, to raise
$100 million in
five years, has been sucessfully concluded
CONTRIBUTIONS
• Over 2,700 donors worldwide contributed to
The Ireland Funds in 2003
• The Funds’ endowment now stands at $7.5 million
made
up of 56 Donor Advised Funds
• There are 80 members of the Heritage Society who
have
remembered The Funds in their wills GRANTS
• €8 million/Stg£5.5 million was awarded
in grants to over
300 projects throughout Ireland
• €1.25 million was raised for the Special Olympics
World
Games in June, €265,000 of this was raised in
Ireland SPONSORSHIP
• The Ireland Funds in Ireland secured support from
the
companies overleaf which will cover our costs
until 2007
• This generosity and other contributions, ensure
that the
Irish operation was the second largest contributor
of all
The Ireland Funds branches, after The American
Ireland
Fund, to the Hope & History Campaign EVENTS
• 70 events were held in 39 cities in 10 countries
attended
by 40,000 supporters
• The Ireland Fund of France Wild Geese award was
presented to Brendan Kennelly
• At the Sydney Garden Party Lady Fairfax announced
a gift
of Aus$1 million, in memory of her husband
Sir Warwick,
to assist integrated education in Northern
Ireland CONFERENCE
• The June Conference in Dublin attracted 280 delegates
from 28 cities around the world
• The 32nd American Ireland Fund Literary Award was
presented to Marina Carr
• The delegates spent a day visiting projects
that received
Ireland Funds’ grants and also mapped out the
future for
The Funds in the post Campaign period OTHER
• Circulation of The Ireland Funds’ magazine
Connect
increased to over 45,000 worldwide
• There are 2,500 AIF Affinity MBNA card
carrying members. Every time a card is used, The
Funds receive
a
contribution from MBNA
• The Funds new website was launched
