Paul
Kelly, Founder of Console,
Honored by Ireland
Funds at Home and Abroad : 23 April 2008
Dublin, Ireland – At a
reception held by The Ireland Funds
and hosted by Sotheby’s, the Core Giving
Circle presented the proceeds of their third
annual fundraiser to Mr. Paul Kelly, founder
of CONSOLE. The monies raised will contribute
to the provision of a comprehensive child psychotherapy
service for children and young people bereaved
through suicide.
Founded in 2004, the Core Giving Circle is
made up of twenty friends, family and business
associates who seek to change others lives for
the better by raising awareness of and providing
funding to a range of worthwhile causes. Facilitated
by The Ireland Funds, they have raised in excess
of $255,000 for Irish led projects.
Monaco
At the event, The
Ireland Fund of Monaco announced
that its third biennial Princess Grace Humanitarian
Award will be awarded to Mr. Kelly. The Ireland
Fund of Monaco, under the High Patronage of His
Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, makes
the award every other year, and the presentation
is made by Prince Albert II at the organization’s
Gala event which, this year, will be held in
Monaco
in October. Named for the late Princess
Grace, the award was established by the Ireland
Fund of Monaco to commemorate the lifetime of
humanitarian work done by her and to celebrate
her Irish heritage.
"We are thrilled to be
able to salute the outstanding work of CONSOLE," says
Dr. MaryCarroll Sullivan, Executive Director
of the Ireland Fund of Monaco. “We
consider Mr. Kelly to be a hero, and the impact
of his work and the benefits from it are felt
all over Ireland. By selecting him for this award,
the Ireland Fund of Monaco adds our support and
encouragement to those who have already recognized
the wonderful and important work he has established
and does so well.”
CONSOLE
Established
in 2002 by families that had experienced the
grief of losing a loved one through suicide.
It offers professional support services to those
bereaved through suicide while promoting positive
mental health within the community.
