The Ireland Fund of Japan is pleased to inform you that the 2005 Emerald Ball will be held, in the presence of the President of Ireland, Mrs. Mary McAleese, at the Palace Hotel, Tokyo on Saturday, March 19th 2005. In addition this year, we are delighted to have Princess Takamado as our Guest of Honour.

Apart from being the Fund's major social event in the year, it is also our premier fundraising effort. This gala evening showcases the best of Irish hospitality and culture and creates a wonderful venue for our Ireland Fund supporters to entertain friends and special guests. We are expecting 450 guests at the Ball and would like to include your company in our program and sponsor list.

The success of our event depends on the generous support of our sponsors. The Emerald Ball 2005 provides companies with an opportunity to become associated with a prestigious event in Japan and also a worldwide cause that is extraordinarily positive.

The Emerald Ball 2005 Sponsorship Program offers a number of packages that will provide our sponsors with a range of Rights and Benefits to match their level of contribution. The Ireland Fund of Japan is dedicated to raising funds in support of arts and culture, education and community development both in Japan and Ireland and, where possible, to grow the links in these areas between the countries. This year we are honoured to have the opportunity to support the participation of the Irish team in the Special Winter Olympics, held in Nagano. On the evening of the Ball the Ireland Fund will announce a new educational programme linking selected primary schools in Japan and Ireland.

This unique programme will provide scope for informed cultural awareness at local community levels between Japan and Ireland.
