The Ireland Fund of Japan is pleased to inform you that the 2006 Emerald Ball will be held at the Miyako Radisson Hotel, Tokyo on St. Patrick’s Day Friday, March 17th, starting at 6:30pm.

We are planning a lively night of music, excellent food and entertainment which celebrates the best of Japanese and Irish culture. Like Japan, Ireland has a rich musical heritage and this will be an opportunity to experience it first-hand on Ireland’s National Feast Day.

In the past there have been some very high-profile attendees including Her Excellency Princess Takamado, President Mary McAleese, Irish Ambassador to Japan Padraig Murphy and a number of visiting Irish politicians. This year again the Committee are planning a gala event with some well-known personalities.

Past performers at the Ball include Phil Coulter and Paul Brady as well as members of the Riverdance troupe. This year we are planning to feature stirring Taiko drumming, Irish dancing by Japanese members of a local Ceoltas Ceoiltoiri group as well as a live band.

We are expecting up to 350 guests at the Ball and would like to include your company in our program and sponsor list.

Apart from being the Fund's major social event in the year, it is also our premier fundraising effort and a chance to contribute to some very worthy causes which promote stronger ties between Ireland and Japan.

The success of our event depends on the generous support of our sponsors. We are thankful for your support in the past which has made our activities possible. The Emerald Ball 2006 provides companies with an opportunity to become associated with a prestigious event in Japan and also a worldwide cause that is extraordinarily positive.

The Ireland Fund of Japan is dedicated to raising funds in support of arts and culture, education and community development both in Japan and Ireland and, where possible, to grow the links in these areas between the countries.

The Emerald Ball 2006 Sponsorship Program offers three packages, Platinum, Gold and Silver, that will provide our sponsors with a range of Rights and Benefits to match their level of contribution. Details will be available shortly.

This gala event is always strongly attended by the Tokyo business community so it is also an excellent chance to rub shoulders with existing or potential business partners in a relaxed setting or treat special guests to a night of famed Irish hospitality. Ordinary and VIP tickets are both available and we will be accepting orders shortly.

Please note that tickets for the event are limited so we advise you to book early to avoid disappointment!
