In
the past there have been some very high-profile
attendees including Her Excellency Princess
Takamado, President Mary McAleese, Irish Ambassador
to Japan Brendan Scannell and a number of visiting
Irish politicians and Japanese politicians.
Past performers
Past performers at the Ball include Phil Coulter
and Paul Brady as well as members of the Riverdance
troupe. This year we are planning to feature
lively Irish and Japanese musicians, Irish
dancing and a live band.
Guests
This gala event
is always strongly attended by the Tokyo
business community so it is also an excellent
chance to rub shoulders with existing or
potential business partners in a relaxed
setting or treat special guests to a night
of famed Irish hospitality.
Fundraising
Apart from
being the Fund's major social event in the
year, it is also our premier fundraising effort
and a chance to contribute to some very worthy
causes which promote stronger ties between
Ireland and Japan.
Mission
The Ireland Fund of Japan is dedicated
to raising funds in support of arts and culture,
education and community development both in
Japan and Ireland and, where possible, to develop
the links in these areas between the countries. |
