- M. C. Sullivan
M. C. Sullivan is currently the Executive
Director of The Ireland Fund of Monaco. A nurse-bioethicist-attorney
who has worked in ethics and public policy
for more than two decades with not-for-profit
organizations as well as commercial organizations,
she has provided strategic advisory and strategic
communications services, especially around
policy, ethical, and legal issues, primarily
to healthcare and life science organizations
in the public and private sectors.
Previously the Executive Vice President of
the Center for Practical Bioethics, Ms. Sullivan
was the Executive Vice President for Corporate
Communications and Bioethics at Gemini Genomics
plc and also a co-founder and Managing Director
of LifeSciences Advisory Group LLC, providing
strategic communications consultancy services
to biotechnology and healthcare organizations,
ranging from small, start-up companies through
large, multinational corporations. Prior to
forming LSAG, Ms. Sullivan was a vice president
with Fleishman-Hillard, an international communications
firm, where she provided strategic counsel
for clients in the healthcare and biotechnology
industries in the areas of corporate communications,
media relations, litigation support, and crisis
management.
A native of Boston, Ms. Sullivan earned a
degree in philosophy from Emmanuel College
and a diploma in nursing from the Newton-Wellesley
Hospital School of Nursing. She has a Master’s
degree in Theological Studies in Ethics from
Harvard University and received her Juris Doctor
from the Massachusetts School of Law. She is
admitted to the bar in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. Ms. Sullivan is president of
the American Society for Law, Medicine and
Ethics where she served in the same capacity
in 2001. She holds US and EU citizenships.
