DCU educational trust
Aims to obtain private sector support for the development of
DCU, Ireland’s youngest university and one of the
first to introduce co-op work placements as part of its
degree requirements and have interdisciplinary academic
programs. DCU’s teachning focus is in the areas of
business, science and electronics, computer technology,
communications and languages.
The university has developed
a strong research profile, creating a number of national
centres of excellence which combine academic disciplines
such as biotechnology, electronic engineering, computer
applications, physics and chemistry. Funding goes towards
capital projects, student scholarships, research and
academic enhancements.
